Development of a new Corporate Design and Signage System for the "Deutsches Museum", the museum for technic and sciences.
The concept is based on a thought of the founder Oscar von Miller
"a museum as a three-dimensional encyclopedia". The idea for the corporate design is to show the huge variety of objects, themes and offers which can be discovered by the visitors. By overlapping the connection between sciences and technique becomes visible. The dynamic of the signifier underlines the variety of hands-on exhibits shown in the museum.
The signage system shows sindgle side bent signs which show the direction and get the peoples attention by its divergent depth. The depth varies according to the distance to the target and the information it shows. The different floors are seperated into colors which are displayed on the reverse side of the signs and becomes visible by reflection on the wall.
This project was initiated by ouerselfs as Bachelor Thesis and for that reason no remittance work by "Deutsches Museum".
